Veronica recently earned an Associates Degree in Business with emphasis in Marketing and Management and is a new full-time employee at The Daily Journal. She has lived in the River Valley area her whole life and can’t imagine ever moving away from her friends and family.

The part she likes most about her job is event planning. She loves the organization and scheduling aspect of it and has helped plan many of her friends’ parties and weddings. She also has experience with event planning because of her role in helping to produce many large productions with Paula Aubry School of Dance.

Taylor Provost

Taylor Provost is Yes! Magazine’s newest correspondent. A lifelong Bourbonnais resident, she is in her senior year of a Multimedia Studies degree at Olivet Nazarene University, where she is also the News Editor of the GlimmerGlass, Olivet’s student newspaper.

When she’s not slaving over the newspaper and her (regrettably) full, 18-credit-hour school schedule, she’s likely busy making lunch for small children – she’s a local nanny, too. She loves babies and children, and even teaches a religious education class for preschoolers at St. Martin of Tours parish in Kankakee, where she’s known as “Miss Taylor.”

Mary Hall is a St. Louis native who began working at The Daily Journal in 2014. She has a degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Multimedia Journalism and Spanish. After interning at The Daily Journal, she began working full-time as Niche Editorial Assistant shortly after graduation in 2015.

She has also worked for the radio station Shine.fm, interned at Channel 8 News in Dallas, Texas, and lived in a home for teen moms in Ecuador for a three months.

Stacy Barclay is a lifelong resident of Kankakee County. She graduated from Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School and attended Columbia College, Chicago where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Television Production. Her career began at NBC5 (WMAQ-TV), Chicago where she worked as an assignment desk editor, field producer and ultimately, associate producer of the television show NBC5 for Kids where she won an Emmy award for Outstanding Programming in a Children’s Series.

Rachael Reynolds-Soucie graduated from DePaul University in Chicago in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a minor in journalism.

Shortly after graduation, Rachael began her career at The Daily Journal as a general assignment reporter. She became the assistant editor for features in 2004, the same year she was named Travel Writer of the Year by the Midwest Travel Writers Association, the oldest association of professional travel writers in the U.S.
